International Business in China

  • Pursue your academic interests and earn 15 credits in international business and economic development at the heart of China’s commercial and finance center.
  • Complement your coursework with visits to Chinese and multi-national enterprises, plus a capstone research project that allows you to meaningfully explore a topic of interest.
  • Build your resume with an internship at a Chinese or multi-national company or NGO focusing on areas such as economic development, health education, software development, real estate, the arts, and publishing.
  • Enrich your understanding of China’s role in the global marketplace through a targeted field study trip to Hong Kong, Macau, and Guangdong Province.

In the last century Shanghai has experienced exponential growth from its origins as a colonial trading port to a bustling international metropolis and global financial hub. Today, the home of China’s first free trade zone attracts an international population with its fast-paced industry and cosmopolitan vibe. With expanding industrial, commercial, and service sectors, Shanghai serves as an ideal location for students wishing to explore China’s rapidly changing business environment and the global networks in which it plays an ever more strategic role.
