Health Profession's Students Mission/Service to Dominican Republic

The Program, coordinated by the Dept of Physical Therapy and Christian Medical Ministry of South Alabama (CMMSA), is open to students from Allied Health (PT, OT, Physician Assistant), Nursing and Medicine, providing medical care in hospitals, nursing home and community clinics, with supervision by licensed health-care professional.

Objectives of the program include the practice of clinical skills to meet needs of an underserved population in D.R., to enhance cultural sensitivity, and consider the application of spiritual beliefs with clinical practice in an international setting.
