USA Global Concepts: Health, Music, & Culture in India
Join us for a 12-day cultural immersion experience during the Maymester. Learn about the health, music, history, art, and everyday life as we travel through the upscale areas to the slums of India. Enjoy the sites, sounds, and smells as we journey from New Delhi to Calcutta (Kolkata) and back!
Accommodation and Meals
All breakfasts and some dinners will be included. Students will stay in shared room hotels and one night will be on the overnight train from Delhi to Kolkata.
Students will take the following course for a total of one credit hour:
IS 390: USA Global Concepts: Health, Music, & Culture in India
The course does not have any prerequisites and is open to all qualified students.
The cost of the USA Global Concepts program is $3000. Program costs include round trip international airfare, all in-country transportation, meals as described above, accommodations, some museum entrance fees, some excursions, international health insurance and emergency assistance. Tuition for the one credit hour and cost for your visa are NOT included. Participants should budget additional funds for some museum entrance fees, some excursions, supplies, or personal expenses such as souvenirs or independent travel, based upon individual spending habits. Costs are based on anticipated exchange rates and enrollment and are subject to change. Program items may be changed in lieu of a price increase.
Payment Schedule and Deadline
A program deposit of $350.00 is due within 10 days of program application and no later than February 28, 2018. The first payment installment of $1325 is due on March 12, 2018. The final payment installment of $1325 is due on April 9, 2018. Applicants can reserve a spot in the program by hitting the "Apply Now" button and completing the online program application. Once accepted, applicants can confirm their place in the program by paying the program deposit of $350. The deposit is applied toward the cost of the program, $300 of which is fully refundable if the participant withdraws before the priority application deadline of February 16, 2017.
Program fees are refundable only in the event of cancellation of the program and are based on recoverable expenses. All payments should be considered non-refundable, and any requests for consideration of refunds based on extenuating circumstances (medical, etc…) must be made in writing and will be considered on a case by case basis.
